Lost Crates January 2012 @LostCrates
The January 2012 Lost Crates shipment arrived, and as always we've got an interesting selection of products.
Glad to see the notebook selection for this month is a Whitelines A5 black lined hardcover notebook.
Then we have a Seven Year Pen, able to write 1.7 meters a day (5 feet, 6.92 inches for imperially-inclined) for seven years.
A card duo from Dude and Chick (Elvis the satyr on the front card, the second shows a puzzle), very cute.
Finally, a bright blue luggage tag from Moleskine, an item I've been looking at for some time but hadn't thought I needed one.
If you have a Lost Crates subscription, I'd love to hear what you received. The pre-printed card they send announcing the gifts makes me think the boxes aren't as individually "curated" as LC claims.

Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteMy crate was exactly like yours, except my luggage tags is black. I agree that the individual selection idea is probably hype, but I enjoy getting my crates anyway. I used many of the items from previous crates for holiday gifts. It worked out well.

Like Diane, I got the same as you, only with a lime green luggage tag. Still love everything in this month's crate.
ReplyDeleteI received totally different items: Archie Grand notebook, Pocket Dept notebook, Pantone color notecards, but the pen that was supposed to be included was missing. :-(

Well I get mine next month, if they are all starting to be the same , save a difference in color it may be my last. I have started doing a LOT of letter writing and postcard exchanges and that money can go for quite a few stamps and some really nice stationery.
ReplyDeleteMy packet had different things this month: a pair of Sakura Micron pigment pens, Pocket Dept. French Shirt Pocket notebook, an Author Ecosystem Journal, and a booklet of sticky bookmarks of a dozen or more different non-neon colors (I forget the name of the company at the moment).
ReplyDeleteDerrick, when you signed up for LC you had to fill out a questionnaire to get an idea of your style. Likely brusz, aloria, and I have similar tastes. Mia and Cari got amazingly different items, all of which sound great. If you don't like the month, go back and re-do your questionnaire with a new set of answers.
ReplyDeleteMy box was exactly like yours, but instead of the blue tag I got a lime green one.
ReplyDeleteHey Cari,
ReplyDeleteCan you shoot me an email. I'm sorry about this. Looks like someone "lost some of the contents of your crate." I will definitely fix this.

Let me just say that I'm pleased with my Lost Crates subscription, haven't had a bad month yet. That LC now is sending out pre-printed cards with a description of the items tells me that they have a lot of subscribers and can do that now, rather than write individual notes to people. So I'm really glad in a way that the personalization is via the "curated" card, 'cause it means that LC is doing well enough to stick around for some time.
ReplyDeleteGiselle, I sent you an email yesterday, am waiting for your reply. Thanks for your help.

I got exactly your box, same colors and everything. I've actually cancelled for now. I enjoy the surprise, and I get that I won't *love* every item they send, but $$ is sort of limited for us right now and I'd rather just spend it on things I *know* I want/need.
ReplyDeleteI stopped my subscription to Lost Crates because they began to get further and further from what I wanted. I did fill out the questionaire but over the months the items were less and less "me" - I couldn't/wouldn't use them. Nice concept but needs to be more individualized.
ReplyDeleteJust to let you all know, I did get my lost pen from Lost Crates. :-)
