Minnesota Is Running Out of Booze and Smokes
Due to the state shut down in Minnesota, beer/liquor and cigarette sales may come to a crashing halt. Weird consequence, since two of the biggest revenue streams for states tend to be the "sin" taxes.

This post reminded me of Gary, an alcoholic friend. Forced into rehab to save his job, Gary approached me to apologize for his alcohol-fueled workplace behavior. Gary was a talented guy, but I was having none of it. "Gary," I blurted, "This is the Mahoning Valley (a depressed area known for public corruption)! Who wants to stay sober?" He lost his "rehab face", and we both had a good laugh. (He moved on and did much better.) Jack/Youngstown
ReplyDeleteAs a former resident of Minnesota, I have to say that if this were happening in winter, there would be an apocolypse in that state along with convoys to Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas!
