Rhodia Reverse Book

I've gotten to like the Rhodia Reverse Book, a square-shaped (8.25 x 8.25) notebook with graph paper that can be opened in either portrait or landscape format. I've been using it for some of my knitting notes and some lists and ides. You can write in any direction you want, and the notebook has 160 pages of 80gsm extra-white paper. The graph paper can be a bit overwhelming for writing, and so a blank book might be a good option. It's a nice little notebook with an appealing and unusual design. The notebook comes in Rhodia's signature orange and black colors, as well as a metallic cover. Definitely a fun notebook to add to your collection.

  2. Target, the mass marketer, carries the Rhodia Reverse here in my area, and also a staple-bound Rhodia, as well as some well-regarded Miquelrius products. Newcomers to the 4Ps community may have a hard time judging what makes Rhodia worth the higher price. Still, I'm glad to see Target taking a chance on better quality offerings.

  3. Target carries the Rhodia line in name only, with so few of the products available at any store that I don't see why they bother. They do have a lot of the Miquelrius notebooks, which are also quite good.

  4. I agree with the "in name only" characterization, Diane. I'm not sure Rhodia and Miquelrius will get a fair chance among Target's lower-end notebooks and journals.

  5. I think Target is "testing the waters" with the limited selection of Rhodia products.

  6. Thanks, Biffybeans. Target's online store carries more high-end journals and notebooks, if my memory's okay. Leuchtturm comes to mind, which I've seen reviewed in the 4Ps community.

I sometimes ask: what's the point? Then I'll see a letter from Europe, written in an almost calligraphic script in fountain pen on fine paper. Impact, thoughtfulness---all those cliches. I have to remind myself that those qualities don't happen by accident.

  7. I just got the Rhodia Reverse at Target and two staple-bound Rhodia notebooks that were on clearance for $3.94 a piece (so I bought them all). The Reverse is awesome though.

  8. I just ordered a 3-pack of these on Massdrop. I've not used these particular notebooks before but I love Rhodia. Can't wait!
